Topics covered will include career planning, taking the next step, where a comms career can lead to and how to get there.
We’ll also hear about the state of the employment market.

Louise Kanis - Chief Communications and Engagement Officer, Epworth Healthcare
In a career spanning more than 30 years, Louise has headed corporate affairs and communication for both a major Melbourne transport consortium and Victoria’s largest health service; established the communications and marketing function for a multinational financial services firm, driven the communications for a university undergoing major change and built her own agency servicing marquee external clients across a diverse range of industries. Louise has served on Australian executive management groups, an international marketing and communications executive team, crisis management executive, as a director of a charitable foundation, and as the co-owner and director of her own company.

Lyndsey Walker - Founder, Deliberate Impact (recruiter for NFPs in communications and fundraising)
Lyndsey Walker has grown her career for the last 15 years in recruitment, specifically in Communications, Marketing and Fundraising. Working across larger agencies into consultancies, Lyndsey launched her own business this year – deliberate Impact. Having studied Public Relations at RMIT early on, and then working within sport and travel before becoming Public Relations Manager at Muscular Dystrophy Association, Lyndsey has gone on to recruit in Not for Profit, Education and Healthcare to contribute to hiring the right people, in the right jobs, for the right cause.

Corrina Langelaan - Director, Media and Corporate Communications, Victoria University
Corrina Langelaan has been working the in the field of strategic communications and corporate affairs for more than twenty years. She has held roles in a diverse range of organisations from Royal Mail in the UK to not for profits across Europe and in Australia. In the past decade, Corrina has specialised in higher education, with senior communications roles at the University of Melbourne including media, Advancement, research communications and corporate brand.

Sophie Marcard - Director, Marketing and Communications, Philanthropy Australia
Communications for and about donors is a continuing theme in Sophie’s career. Most recently she led communications for the Monash Health Foundation, supporting philanthropy to Victoria’s largest public health service – Monash Health. Sophie’s early career spanned a decade with St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne in varied marketing, media relations and communications roles. While at St Vincent’s, she completed a Master of Marketing at Melbourne Business School. This built on her undergraduate degrees in Arts and Commerce from the University of Melbourne.
