Aims
To provide our corporate members nationally with an opportunity to connect and hear from subject matter experts on the state of Corporate Philanthropy in 2023 (trends/ data on corporate giving) and what to expect in 2024.
Overview
Join us for a thought-provoking exploration of corporate giving in Australia.
In this session we will delve into the latest trends and data shaping the landscape of corporate philanthropy. You’ll hear from industry experts Jarrod Miles from Strive Philanthropy who will discuss the latest findings from the 2023 GivingLarge report, and Steve King from Atlassian Foundation who will share his organisation’s priorities for the year and their involvement in the Pledge 1% movement.

Jarrod Miles - Co-Founder, Strive Philanthropy
Jarrod co-founded Strive Philanthropy an organisation dedicated to highlighting the remarkable philanthropic efforts of corporate Australia. Strive releases the annual GivingLarge report, a significant piece of research aimed at drawing attention to corporate Australia's efforts in giving to our community.
Steve King - Director of Business Impact, Atlassian Foundation
Steve is the Director of Business Impact for Atlassian Foundation, an advocate for the Pledge 1% Corporate Philanthropy movement, co-founder of the Jessica King Fellowship, and startup advisor for the Remarkable Tech accelerator program.
Steve and his late wife Jessica King were cofounders of a startup called abil.io, a transport and navigation app that enabled people with disability to move throughout the city. abil.io aimed to make the world accessible, to equalise independent access to life.
Steve established the Jessica King Fellowship in memory of his wife, providing aspiring entrepreneurs with disability (EwD), or those intrigued by entrepreneurship, the opportunity to explore the world of startups.

Amy Lyden - Chief Executive Officer, Westpac Foundation & Scholars Trust
Amy has over 25 years of experience across corporate, foundations, SME, and not-for-profit sectors as a senior manager, founder and CEO in Australia and North America. When Westpac announced a $100m investment to create a scholarship fund, she joined Westpac Scholars Trust as Scholarship Program Director in 2015 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Westpac Foundation & Westpac Scholars Trust in July 2022.
Previously, Amy was the inaugural CEO of Australian Scholarships Foundation (ASF), a start-up organisation dedicated to strengthening the not-for-profit sector by providing education opportunities. During her six years at ASF, Amy led the facilitation of 2500+ scholarships valued at over $5m and partnered with 25 universities and private education partners.
Amy was previously Chair and Selection Panel Member of the Fulbright Scholarship program, a member of the Curriculum Portfolio Committee at the AICD, a board member of the Australian Businesswomen’s Network and is currently Co-Chair of Philanthropy Australia’s Corporate Giving Network.
Amy holds a Master of Enterprise from the University of Melbourne (Melbourne Business School) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Coaching Psychology from the University of Sydney. She lives in Sydney with her husband, two teenage kids, 14 year old beloved cat and crazy yet adorable Staffy.
