Aims

  • To share lessons and current approaches to funding in the education space  
  • To discuss potential topics and resources that would be valuable for the network
  • To facilitate and grow connections

 

Overview

Education funders network is one of the biggest funders networks of Philanthropy Australia. We are thrilled to host this network meeting to have the opportunity to come together and:

  • share our aims in giving, areas and styles of giving
  • reflect on what we found valuable in our giving journey, and
  • consider content we can explore as a network in the future

 

This is an invitation to converse and make connections meaningfully and to contribute to strengthening our network. Please note that this an in-person event only. Light refreshments will be provided.

    • This is a face-to-face session with limited spaces.

Sandra Jacobs, CEO/ Executive Director at Bennelong Foundation

Sandra joined the Bennelong Foundation as CEO in 2016 and was appointed to the Bennelong Foundation board in 2021. Prior to this Sandra had considerable experience in the wealth management industry spanning over 10 years at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management as a financial adviser. Sandra is currently the chair of The Nappy Collective, and non-executive director of TarraWarra Museum of Art and Israel for Youth Foundation.

John Bush, Head of School Age Learning at Paul Ramsay Foundation 

John supports a portfolio of grant partners and leads grantmaking and strategy development related to school-age learning.

John has previously been in the leadership teams for two not-for-profit education start-ups, Evidence for Learning and High Resolves.  He also led the design and delivery of the SVA Education Dialogue. John spent the first decade of his career as a teacher and school leader. He is on advisory boards for several education partnerships and organisations and has been on selection panels for Australian teaching and social innovation awards.
