Sydney Women’s Fund and Philanthropy Australia welcome you to a special International Women’s Day Breakfast to discuss how philanthropy can better support Sydney women. If you’re interested in gender equity and place-based giving, this is an event not to be missed. Join us to hear from leaders in philanthropy focused on improving the lives of women and families in Sydney and beyond. The session will also include a presentation by esteemed Australian social researcher Dr Rebecca Huntley. Dr Huntley will share her insights from Sydney Women’s Fund’s latest research survey of more than 1,000 Sydney women: Sydney Women’s Fund Portrait V, Women of Greater Sydney Research. This unique study presents a picture of the challenges faced by Sydney women, delving into the issues that matter most to them.

Georgina Byron AM | CEO - Snow Foundation and Chair - Sydney Women's Fund
Georgina was appointed CEO of The Snow Foundation in 2006 and has significantly grown its reach and impact ever since.
Georgina is passionate about creating social change to improve the lives of Australians, especially women and girls and First Australians. She is a Deputy Chair of Sydney Community Foundation and Chair of Sydney Women’s Community Fund Advisory Council. She has also served as a director for the Australian Women Donors Network, and Hands Across Canberra Community Foundation.
Lisa Grinham | Head of the Sydney Women's Fund - Sydney Community Foundation
Lisa is passionate about supporting women and families through community-based charities.
Lisa was most recently CEO of Good2Give and three of Westpac Group’s charitable foundations.Lisa is a current Board director of International Women’s Forum Australia and a past director of Daystar Foundation and ShareGift Australia.
Dr Rebecca Huntley | Leading Australian Social Trends Researcher
Dr Rebecca Huntley is one of Australians foremost researchers on social trends.
She is Director of Research at the agency 89DegreesEast and holds degrees in law and film studies and a PhD in Gender Studies. Dr Huntley serves as the Chair of the Advisory Board of Australian Parents for Climate Actionand is a member of the Advisory Group for the Climate Solutions Centre at the Australian Museum, and the Sydney Environment Institute. She has held board positions on the board of The Bell Shakespeare Company, The Whitlam Institute and The Dusseldorp Forum.
Karen Iles | Founder, Violet Co Legal & Consulting
Having spent years in Corporate Social Responsibility and Pro Bono roles for large corporates and a decade working in advocacy-focused non-government organisations, Karen wanted to make change “her way”. A focus on women, gender diverse and First Nations social justice is at the core of all that we do at Violet Co.
Karen Iles is a lawyer, consultant, board director, sexual assault survivor and Dharug Aboriginal woman.
Karen’s professional experience is a blend of private and for-purpose sector. Her career has included leading corporate social responsibility, consulting, in-house legal and large scale transformation projects for businesses and organisations such as KPMG Australia, Amnesty International Australia, Tata Consultancy Services, Colin Biggers & Paisley Lawyers, Coffey International Development and two Trade Unions. Karen has more than 20 years experience as a non-executive director on not-for-profit boards.
Angelica Ojinnaka-Psillakis | Global Youth Affairs Leader and Former Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations
Angelica Ojinnaka-Psillakis (she/her) is a pioneering global youth affairs leader, public speaker, lived experience advocate and researcher. Driven by social change, she has led global and local advocacy, research, and creative projects exploring areas including youth access and participation rights, social inequalities, mental health, violence against women and children, racial and gender justice, and civic and political leadership. Most recently, her work includes serving as the 2022 Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations and she is the current Oceania Representative on the World Federation of United Nations Associations Youth Advisory Council 2023-2026.
Candice Van Doosselaere | Head of Programs - Australia, Judith Neilson Foundation
Candice leads philanthropy and partnerships engagement in Australia for the Judith Nielson Foundation, with a focus on women and girls experiencing disadvantage.
With master's degrees in Law and Human Rights, Candice’s career has been guided by her passion for social justice, equity, diversity and sustainable development. Candice has spent 15 years working in impact driven roles, with over ten years across the not-for-profit and philanthropic sectors in Australia
