Overview
Join Philanthropy Australia and Include a Charity for a Legacy Lunch on 10 October in Canberra where new research will be presented on unfulfilled charitable bequests. The lunch will explore how to inspire more gifts, advocate for policy reform, and share impactful stories.
This event is open to everyone including donors, professional advisers, will writers and not-for-profit fundraisers. Speakers
Morgan Koegel
Morgan is the Manager Director at Bequests Assist, experts in estate administration, allowing generous gifts for charities to be fully realised. After graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor in Arts and Juris Doctor (Laws), Morgan’s entire career has been in the not-for-profit space. Previously she worked at The Climate Council and served on the board of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition.
Rohani Bixler
Principal Lawyer at Olivetree Legal, Rohani supports people to make informed decisions about succession strategies, whether in the planning or administration phase, or in the process of estate litigation. She has practiced exclusively in estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation since 2006. She has extensive experience with the creation of bespoke solutions for complex family concerns, including planning for vulnerable beneficiaries, blended families and private businesses.
Andrew Atkinson
Former police officer for 27 years and UN Peacekeeper in Timor-Leste and Iraq, Andrew’s work involved reuniting displaced people after the conflict had occurred and assisting the local police in re-establishing their role in the region, alongside the UN Refugee Agency for Australia (UNHCR). His experiences motivated his decision to continue to contribute to UHNCR’s work by leaving a gift in his will.
