About the Sydney Opera House
As one of the world’s busiest performing arts centres, Australia’s premier tourist destination and a masterpiece of human creativity recognised as a World Heritage-listed site, the Sydney Opera House plays an integral role in shaping Australia’s cultural identity.
Complementing its own internal programming arm, Sydney Opera House Presents, the venue is the proud home to eight resident companies and for-purpose arts organisations: Australian Chamber Orchestra, The Australian Ballet, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Bell Shakespeare, Opera Australia, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Theatre Company
Following the Opera House’s 50th Anniversary year in 2023, the organisation is embarking on a new strategic journey to be Everyone’s House, an initiative to open up the Opera House to more of the community than ever before, focusing on areas such as first nations programs and engaging a wider and more diverse set of people.
