Dr Genevieve Timmons - Philanthropic Executive, Genevieve Timmons & Associates
Genevieve was born in Naarm, Melbourne and raised in country Victoria on the lands of the Wotjebollock people. In an extensive career Genevieve has pioneered approaches to contemporary philanthropy in Australia and New Zealand, working with over 50 individuals and organisations to secure optimal positioning and best impact for philanthropic giving. Her work has included exchange with global and local networks, monitoring emerging trends and challenges, leading innovation in establishment of giving programs, and development of strategic planning and policy. As philanthropic executive, Genevieve led the strategic management of the Reichstein Foundation and the Portland House Foundation, also working with the Naomi Milgrom Foundation and the Paul Ramsay Foundation. As a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Genevieve has served governance roles with numerous philanthropic, academic and not for profit boards. She is a Senior Fellow of Johns Hopkins International Fellows in Philanthropy (USA), a Fellow of Leadership Victoria, and Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Social Impact, Swinburne University. Genevieve was recognised for her contributions to philanthropy with an Honorary Doctorate from Swinburne University, and an Alumni Leadership Award from University of Melbourne. Delivering professional development is a highlight of Genevieve’s contributions, during a time when the philanthropic world is advancing and expanding significantly. She has generated ground-breaking professional development and training materials for Australia and New Zealand as author of the Grantmaker’s Toolkit (NZ) and two editions of 'Savvy Giving'. |
