Welcome to the Philanthropy Australia Conference 2024

Conference in-person registrations are now sold out. Online registrations are available.

The Philanthropy Australia Conference is the pre-eminent gathering of the philanthropic and not-for-profit sectors for learning, networking, storytelling, and celebrating achievements. The Conference is held every two years.

The 2024 Conference is being held on 5-7 August, in Adelaide. This will be the first time the Conference is held outside Melbourne or Sydney. So, seize the chance to explore Adelaide and South Australia by arriving early or staying on. The location also creates an opportunity for storytelling that shines a spotlight on the best of the South Australian philanthropic and social change sectors.

The Conference theme is ‘Shifting Perspectives, Shifting Practice’.

There’s something at the Conference for everyone in the sector. We will have sessions that appeal to different audiences - from early career to highly knowledgeable practitioners and from people starting out on their philanthropic journeys to very experienced philanthropists. See ‘Who is the Conference for?’ below.

About the 2024 Conference

Through the theme ‘Shifting Perspectives, Shifting Practice’ the Conference will:

  • Challenge the audience to look at philanthropy in a new way.
  • Encourage the use of different lenses in viewing projects, programs and issues – from a climate lens to the gender lens and more.
  • Inspire learning and change.
  • Embrace a diversity of viewpoints in the audience and presenters.
  • Move forward the conversation on ‘better giving’.
  • Ask: who is being seen? Who is and isn’t ‘in the room’?

The Conference also has 6 sub-themes: shared power, shared capital, shared stories, shared futures, shared knowledge and shared place. Read more about the sub-themes

The Conference is a wonderful opportunity to learn and develop new skills across a range of session types including plenaries, when the whole conference audience comes together and a wide choice of break-out/concurrent sessions.

They’ll be plenty of time for networking and meeting old and new contacts, colleagues and friends.
